Antique map of the Upper Palatinate (Bavaria) by Gerard Mercator. Shows the north of Bavaria between Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, Furth and Neuhaus. With Regensburg, Neumarkt, Amberg and Straubing. Decorated with a beautiful title cartouche.
This beautiful example comes from the rare Spanish edition of the Mercator-Hondius-Janssonius atlas, printed from the same plate that was used for the atlas of 1595. Spanish text on verso.
