Antique Maps by Girolamo Porro (*1520 - †1604)

Girolamo Porro was an Italian engraver active in Venice during the second half of 16th century. He engraved the maps in Ruscelli's La Geografia di Claudio Tolomeo Alessandrino published in 1574, and the beautiful island maps in Porcacchi's L'isole piu famose del Mondo, first published in Venice 1572.
