Antique Maps by Hendrick Doncker (*1626 - 1699)

Hendrick Doncker was a bookseller and publisher in Amsterdam during the 17th Century. His sea atlases are based on his own work, while many maps of this time have been copied from other publishers. The Doncker maps have been known for their accuracy, even Doncker has supplemented his charts with the latest discoveries. During the production of the sea atlas De Zeespiegel, he cooperated for several years with Pieter Goos and Anthonie Jacobsz. His stock of copper plates was eventually sold to Johannes Keulen after his death.
