Antique Maps by Michael Mercator (*1567 - 1600)

Michael Mercator, son of Arnold Mercator and brother to Gerard Mercator the Younger, belonged to a family of notable cartographers. While his grandfather Gerard (1512-1594) remains one of the most renowned cartographers in history, Michael and his descendants faced untimely deaths, prematurely ending their promising careers as geographers and engravers.
