Bowen's map of the West Indies from 'A Complete System of Geography'. Showing the area from Long Island in the north to the delta of the Orinoco in the south. Decorated with a compass rose and a title cartouche with natives.

Cartographer

Emanuel Bowen was a printer, publisher and map engraver in London during the mid-eighteenth century. From 1714 onwards he worked in London and began to produce some of the finest and most attractive maps of the century.
