Beautiful antique map of the Asian continent by Jodocus Hondius. Shows Asia from the Mediterranean to the Pacific. With the Arabian Peninsula, India, Thailand, China, Japan, Korea as an island, Java, Borneo, Moluccas (Spice Islands), New Guinea, Philippines, in the northwest up to America.
Decorated with three cartouches, many sailing ships and sea monsters. First published in the Mercator-Hondius Atlas in 1606, this example comes from the Latin edition of 1613-19.
