Old coloured title page from the fifth part of the famous town book Civitates Orbis Terrarum by Braun & Hogenberg. First published in Cologne in 1596.
In contrast to the frontispieces of the first four parts which show the mythology and symbolism of the ancient Rome, the title-page of the fifth part shows the contemporary 16th century Renaissance world.
