Description

Very decorative copper engraving of the village Appenzell in Switzerland by G. Bodenehr. This fine engraving shows the city with large mountains in background and was published in Bodenehr's famous 'Europeans Macht und Pracht'' between 1704 and 1720.

Gabriel Bodenehr, a German map maker and member of a famous engraver and publisher family of Augsburg, was born 1673. His main work was Atlas Curieux first published 1704. He died in 1765.
