World map by Emanuel Bowen from 'A Complete System of Geography'. Showing the world in Mercator projection with isogonic lines. With one cartouche.

New Zealand is largely incomplete, the east coast of Australia is unknown but implied already. Northwest coast of America is incomplete also.

Cartographer

Emanuel Bowen was a printer, publisher and map engraver in London during the mid-eighteenth century. From 1714 onwards he worked in London and began to produce some of the finest and most attractive maps of the century.
