Bowen's map of Mogul empire. Showing the area between India and Borneo with Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. From 'A Complete System of Geography'. Decorated with a compass rose and a nice title cartouche with an elephant.

Cartographer

Emanuel Bowen was a printer, publisher and map engraver in London during the mid-eighteenth century. From 1714 onwards he worked in London and began to produce some of the finest and most attractive maps of the century.
