Beautiful coloured wall map of Zijpe in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland by Jan Dirksz Zoutman. Consists of a total of 6 double-sheet engraved segments. The wall map has a size of 93 x 161 cm, is rolled and completely backed with Japanese paper. The map itself is complete, but without the three heraldic sheets, which are occasionally placed above the map.
The rare wall map shows Zijpe which today belongs to Schagerbrug and Schagen and is located about 60km north of Amsterdam. The villages of Petten, Krabbendam, Eenigenburg, Sint Maarten, Valkkoog and Schagen are shown in detail. Decorated with many large and smaller sailing ships on the North Sea, three large cartouches and many people on the beach.
