Antique map of Southern Italy (Italia meridionale) by Christoph Weigel. Shows the southern regions of Italy between L'Aquila and Gaeta in the northwest, Naples (Napoli) and the southern tip of Italy with parts of Sicily, Messina. Decorated with a nice title cartouche and a view of the vulcano Mount Vesuvius (Monte Vesuvio). From Bequemer Schul- und Reisen-Atlas also titled Atlas scholasticus et itinerarius by Christoph Weigel. Weigel's well-known travel atlas, which he published in collaboration with Professor Johann David Köhler.
