Bowen's map of Asia. From 'A Complete System of Geography'. With the mythical De Gama's Land, east of Japan, with the note 'This coast was discover'd by John de Gama in a Voyage from China to New Spain.'De Gama land seems to be a part of the pre-history of the Northeast Coast of America, which would soon be laid to rest by the voyages of Bering, Cook and others in the region. Decorated with a compass rose and a nice title cartouche.
Centrefold in lower half backed, tear right to the centrefold backed. Small tears in lower margin backed. A good copy.
