Decorative engraved map of Switzerland by Bowen from 'A Complete System of Geography'. With a large inset plan of Geneva at bottom, with keys at sides to 67 locations. Decorated with one cartouche, a compass rose and a mileage scale.
Excellent condition.
About the  Cartograph/ Printer:  Emanuel Bowen was a printer, publisher and map engraver in London during the mid-eighteenth century. From 1714 onwards he worked in London and began to produce some of the finest and most attractive maps of the century.
